Stephen Curry takes NBA MVP honor again; 1st unanimous winner
Another day, another record for Stephen Curry.

Major League Baseball awards two MVPs every season, one for the American League and one for the National League, with seventeen players considered unanimous winners- most recently Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper in 2015 and Angels outfielder Mike Trout in 2014.
Curry is the 11th player in league history to be voted MVP in consecutive seasons and the first guard since Steve Nash in 2004-05 and 2005-06. The next day, he was named the NBA’s first-ever unanimous MVP, receiving 130 first-place votes from the press and 1 from the KIA MVP fan vote. By early afternoon, the Curry MVP Back 2 Back Pack, including shoes Curry wore in each MVP season, sold out at $400 each in pre-orders online. “Guys that their names are household names, and they jump off the page”. The last player to do that was James, who was with the Miami Heat when he won the award in 2012 and 2013.
NOTE: Kawhi Leonard and LeBron James finished second and third, respectively. He averaged an NBA-best 30.1 points per game to go with 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds. “It didn’t feel that way because I’ve been knowing for six months now”.
Coach Steve Kerr followed with an anecdote about meeting the Curry parents – Dell and Sonya – when their son was a sophomore at Davidson.
“Throughout the course of an 82-game schedule, it can get monotonous, you can get complacent”, Curry said. “I don’t think you shoot nine shots from 3 without making one if you don’t have confidence”.
I’m not saying that Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is anywhere near New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady over the scope of their careers.
Curry showed why he won the award last night in Portland. It’s time for us to close this series.
Curry in turn spoke of the Warriors creating a caring environment for their players and being able to lean on Myers for advice as they share the experience of being fathers to young daughters.
Blazers owner and microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s dumbfounded reaction to Curry’s overtime flurry was caught on television and quickly went viral. “And that is contagious throughout the whole organization”. “I have that on this stage right here”. After missing a few weeks, he slowly got going and led the Warriors to an overtime win in Portland. He also noted the motivation provided by doubters that he and the rest of the team have had throughout the season while defending the National Basketball Association title.

“I want to be remembered as somebody that worked hard, that got the most out of my potential and talent and pushed the envelope”, Curry said.
