Stephen Curry torches Timberwolves for yet another 40-point game

Steph Curry drops 46 points in Golden State’s win over Minnesota. Curry was 9 of 21 from the field, but only 3 of 10 from outside the arc.

The third quarter got off to an unusual start as Golden State actually missed a few shorts for a change.

Draymond Green (23 points, eight rebounds, 12 assists) was plenty productive on both ends of the floor.

Memphis tried to stay close in the fourth, but consecutive 3-pointers from Thompson and Green stretched the Golden State lead back to 86-71 with 6:29 left.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Minnesota’s last 5 games when playing Golden State.

Stephen Curry just won’t stop scoring and can’t be stopped putting up the points.

After pouring in 46 more points and watching two franchise marks fall with the Warriors’ 129-116 win at Minnesota, Stephen Curry explained what has fueled the hot start. It’s becoming more and more evident that this Warriors team, on something of a crusade to shut up all those who criticized their way of winning a championship last season, is on its way to being remembered as one of the great dynasties.

On the other end, the Timberwolves’ young guns were leading the team with Andrew Wiggins having 19 points and 5 assists and this year’s first overall pick, Karl Anthony Towns with 17 points an 11 rebounds.

Evan Turner led Boston with 20 points, while Isaiah Thomas had 14 and Jared Sullinger scored 11 with 11 rebounds.

The halftime score of 75-63 was a little bit of role reversal for the Wolves – after scoring 72 points in the first half in Atlanta on Monday, the Warriors scored 75 on the Wolves. Offensively, they average 112.2 points per game on the road, which is second in the league.

Starting forward Markieff Morris went to the locker room with a sprained left knee in the first quarter and did not return.

In Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 31 points to lead the Mavericks over the Los Angeles Clippers 118-108 in DeAndre Jordan’s first visit since backing out on an agreement to sign with the Mavericks in free agency.

Horford scored 26 points and Millsap had 16 rebounds to go with 19 points as the Hawks pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat the short-handed Pelicans.

Minnesota had a nice comeback spurt with a 12-0 run, and with seven minutes to go it was a seemingly competitive 50-43 game. LaVine added 13 points but it was the Wolves bench that did most of the damage.

Minnesota had 7 players finish in double figures.

If Curry continues to have season’s like he did in 2013-2014-which is looking likely given the way he is now playing-I think he will be a future Hall of Famer and will definitely be considered one of the best to ever play the game.

Durant has made a blistering start to this season, averaging 28.1 points per match, 7.3 rebounds, three assists and 1.25 blocks. That is obvious, but we are a deep enough team where we can win without them. This is patently an unfair fight and a curious decision by coach Sam Mitchell, whose hand was forced when Ricky Rubio missed the game with a hamstring injury.
