Stephen Curry: Will miss at least two weeks

According to ESPN, an MRI on his right knee Monday revealed a Grade I sprain, the lowest sprain possible, and he will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Back in December, Lionel Messi was gifted Curry’s jersey by the Golden State Warriors star upon reaching 30 million followers on Instagram.

Curry missed the second half of Game 1 and all of Games 2 and 3 because of a sprained right ankle. He limped back to the locker room and kickstarted the most anxious 24 hours of the National Basketball Association season.

Any prolonged absence of Curry would be a crippling blow to the Warriors.

Curry’s right knee buckled, and the NBA’s reigning most valuable player bounced up and hobbled his way back to the locker room for halftime. Curry played in Sunday’s game against the Houston Rockets, but a slip on a wet spot on the floor took him out. That would give the Warriors a little more time to let Curry heal, especially with the Spurs already advanced to the second round, and the Thunder likely to do so against the Mavericks in Game 5 in Oklahoma City on Monday.

The second half of Game 4 between Houston and Golden State was pivotal. Overcoming either the Los Angeles Clippers or the Portland Trail Blazers in the next round would be much more hard.

They won’t have him for at least the next two weeks-but they could still have him this season.

Curry limped off the court during Sunday’s victory against the Houston Rockets, plunging Golden State’s hopes of defending their National Basketball Association crown this season into uncertainty. That is good news as it means Curry can return these playoffs, possibly midway through the second round.
