Steve Bruce hails matchwinner Mo Diame as Hull celebrate Premier League return
CURTIS Davies is hopeful Steve Bruce can be persuaded to stay on as Hull City manager as the club begins to plan for its Premier League return in August.

Hull City defeated Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Wembley Stadium to earn a place back in the Premier League after a one-year absence.
The Tigers won courtesy of a brilliant 25-yard strike from Mohamed Diame, whose goal broke the deadlock on 72 minutes.
“I thought we had too many big chances and kept missing them, but thankfully Diame has come up with a wonder goal that would grace any cup final”, Bruce said.
Both attempts came from hard shooting positions, with Wednesday taking a shoot-on-sight policy up against stand-in City stopper Eldin Jakupovic, who once more had to deputise for the injured Allan McGregor.
Abel Hernandez would come closest to opening the scoring however, with the Hull City man seeing Keiren Westwood do well to life the ball over the crossbar with an outstretched left arm.
Sheffield Wednesday have been down in the lower divisions for a while, surprised everyone by putting together a great season, and have fantastic fans. ‘I’m going to let other people judge me on that.
“We are near the final and I understand it is a good moment to talk about this”.
Yet the Hull City manager does not appear entirely sure that he will still be in charge to guide the club in the Premier League.
“There’s certainly a large number, I wouldn’t want to put a figure on it, who have just had enough of being fed daft crackpot schemes”, Bielby told Omnisport.
Meanwhile, Wednesday face a 17th successive year outside the Premier League after a below par display on their first Wembley appearance since 1993.
After beating Brighton over two legs earlier this month, victory for one of England’s best supported clubs will see them return to top-flight football after an abscence of 16 years.
“That support was like nothing I’ve ever witnessed before and I’ve played at Celtic”.
“We always dream of a big job but you’re just classed as “he’s OK, he can get a team out of the Championship and have them scrap away in the Premier League”. We did our best.
Although they enjoyed plenty of possession, only a Ross Wallace free-kick troubled Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic. (We’re winning the Championship next year, right Cellino?) Thanks for reading this season, looking forward to Aston Villa, N*rwich, and Newcastle United in August.
