By that time, Colombia contestant Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo was already wearing the crown as this year’s Miss Universe victor.

Steve Harvey holds up the card showing the winners after he incorrectly announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the victor at the Miss Universe pageant.

However it was not until moments later that Steve interrupted the celebration and said that there had been a mistake and the actual victor of the Miss Universe was Miss Philippines and not Miss Colombia.

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines was crowned Miss Universe 2015, but only after some stage drama. “Luckily some have the bravery to own it & take a step to correct it. Hugs to #MissUniverse2015 wow”, tweeted Audrey Bolte, who described herself as Miss Ohio USA 2012. First runner-up is Colombia, it was my mistake.

A horrified Gutierrez was then subjected to the indignity of having her crown and sash removed in front of a global television audience.

“I will take the responsibility for this”.

After everything that happened, Wurtzbach said she couldn’t help but think about Miss Colombia when she was de-crowned.

Considered as one of the hardest working men in show business, Steve Harvey, host of “The Steve Harvey Show” and “Family Feud”, took to Twitter and revealed that he had been declared the official host for the Miss Universe 2015 pageant last December 12, 2015, reported Black Enterprise.

But as it’s the internet, people immediately took the mick.

The competition started with women aged between 19 and 27 representing 80 countries.

But billionaire property tycoon and Republican US presidential hopeful Trump offended Hispanics in June when he made anti-immigrant remarks in announcing his Republican presidential run.

Trump, who has sued Univision for $500 million, bought out NBC’s stake in the Miss Universe Organization, which produces both Sunday’s pageant and the Miss USA contest. “We are very proud!” It could have been the second win in a row for Colombia.

The 26-year-old told ET that she was hesitant to go up when her name was called, fearing that it may have been another mistake.

The 21-year-old Colombian beauty graciously thanked her fans in a new video posted to Twitter
