Steve Morgan keen to sell Wolves

Kenny Jackett was surprised by the Wolves owner Steve Morgan’s decision to sell the club but not the way his side comprehensively overcame Fulham.

However, Wolves are keen to urge fans that nothing will change in regards to the players, coaching staff and management team as the club strive to find a new ideal replacement for Morgan, who has left a huge gap in the hierarchy of the club.

Morgan’s eventful tenure at Molineux included two promotions and two relegations as the club reached the Premier League in 2010, before plummeting into League One in 2013 and eventually returning to the Championship a year later.

Moxey also said that buying Wolves should be an appealing prospect because of how the club has been run under Morgan.

“Steve will step down from the Board with immediate effect and day-to-day activities will continue to be managed by the Chief Executive with the current Board overseeing operations”.

“Steve remains owner, but we’ve lost a chairman”.

‘Wolves supporters did have words with him before the Preston game.

“At no point has he said to me the supporters have forced him out”.

Jackett was understandably impressed by his players’ display as Monday’s shock development regarding Morgan made little impact. It is a very clean football club and very simple transaction to do.

‘The task of finding someone better or equal to Steve Morgan will be an enormous challenge.

Moxey held a press conference today and although he admitted finding a new owner would be hard, he insisted that it was of “paramount importance” to find the right person.
