Bursting with confidence, the Galaxy kept up the pressure and drew another penalty kick when San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham bobbled a Gerrard blast outside the area, and Robbie Keane buried again to complete his hat-trick.

The Galaxy outshot the Earthquakes 13-6 (8-3 on target shots) and have now scored 19 goals in their last four homes games, all wins.

With the Galaxy already 2-0 down, Gerrard jumped for a loose ball in the box and was struck in the head by the left forearm of San Jose midfielder Tommy Thompson. I thought our guys responded really well.
The Gerrard show continued in the second half when he drilled a low free-kick across the box that Keane flicked home for the go-ahead goal in the 64th minute.

Steven Gerrard admits he wasn’t interested in being a “squad player at Liverpool”.
“I didn’t think was going to play”, he said. “As the game went on, we were getting better and better”. I fell like I’ve still got energy.
“I was quite disappointed in the previous two games not to get goals, I had two good chances”, Gerrard said. Gerrard got an assist as well and LA won 5-2, after hitting the crossbar for good measure.
