Stock Rating Update on AK Steel Holding Corporation (NYSE:AKS)

The company reported a second quarter net loss of $64 million during the period, or a loss of 36 cents per share on revenue of $1.69 billion. The stock has a 50-day moving average of $20.98 and a 200-day moving average of $23.44.

Finally, Jefferies Group reiterated a “hold” rating and set a $5.00 target price (up previously from $3.75) on shares of AK Steel Holding in a research report on Monday, May 4th. The stock now has a consensus rating of “Hold” and a consensus target price of $6.17. The Company’s operations consist primarily of nine steelmaking and finishing plants and tubular production facilities located in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. It also produces carbon and stainless steel that is finished into welded steel tubing.
