Stolen car crashes following police chase; 2 teens killed
Two suburban Detroit teenagers have been killed after the stolen auto they were in crashed following a police chase. Sunday afternoon, Livonia police identified both victims as 14-year-old Livonia residents, conflicting the ages given by the medical examiner’s office.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the teens’ ages but haven’t released the names yet.
Plymouth Township police did not release many details of the crash in the statement.
Less than 20 minutes before the crash, Livonia police received multiple calls about the auto doing “donuts” and running into garbage cans at Garfield Elementary School on Arthur Street in Livonia, west of Detroit.
When they arrived on scene, a white Mustang was fully engulfed in flames. The location was about one mile west of where Livonia officers terminated the pursuit, according to police.
It is believed that the Mustang had been stolen earlier Saturday in Plymouth.
Emergency personnel were called about 9:20 p.m.to the area of Plymouth and Haggerty roads for a two-vehicle crash. Sources say the auto was destroyed and went up in flames on impact. The auto was also involved in a chase through the city of Livonia. A few minutes later police in the City of Plymouth were called to a single-vehicle crash at Plymouth Road and Haggerty.
