A garbage truck was stolen and later crashed in the Capitol Hill neighborhood Tuesday morning.

The garbage truck eventually came to a stop at Bellevue Avenue and East Olive Way, where the suspect collided head-on with another waste disposal truck.
The Seattle Times reports the man stole an Allied Waste Services truck, after he allegedly threatened the driver near the Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct.
Wilson went to get police officers, because he was concerned about his safety. Prior to that, the truck driver told police the man had been harassing him in the alley on the 1500 block of Pine Street.
An 18-year-old man with a learner’s permit took a joy ride in a Seattle garbage truck Tuesday.
A small fire was quickly extinguished. The stolen truck’s fuel tank ignited and flames could be seen spewing from its side.
The suspect also hit at least one other vehicle, which was unoccupied, and a rack of Pronto bikes, in addition to the garbage truck, police said.

The suspect briefly attempted to elude police on foot but was taken into custody without further incident.
