Stone Roses to play T in the Park in 2016r

Music journalist John Robb, who wrote Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop, “there have been quite a few gigs in the last few months” so the lemon posters are unlikely to signify another concert. The band’s followers will be hoping that this recent influx in activity is leading to a third album release.

When they reformed, they also revealed that they had signed a new record deal…but nothing concrete has come from that.

Stone Roses will play Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on June 17 and 18 and T In The Park at Stathallan Castle on July 8 in 2016. It’s their first live performances since playing at Finsbury Park in 2013 and Heaton Park in 2012.

Posters were seen at Manchester’s Close barber’s shop as well as the city’s Vinyl Revival record store with shopkeepers “sworn to secrecy about an announcement”.

With three major headline dates announced and an album on the way, will The Stone Roses be a cert for Glastonbury Festival 2016?

Tickets for both the Manchester gigs and T in the Park festival will go on sale on November 6th at 9.30am, though no pre-sales will be available. “There were a huge number of Stone Roses fans working themselves into a tizz on Twitter on Monday (November 2nd 2015) and many of them will likely have Glastonbury tickets”, said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
