“I’m having a bit of a moment being here with you as well, I mean it’s like very exciting!” the starstruck singer admitted. The song states “It wasn’t love/ It wasn’t love/ It was a flawless illusion”, making fans think the song is reminiscent of her five-year relationship with Kinney.

She’s really, to me, if not the greatest vocalist in the world.

Her new single, “Perfect Illusion,” is her second new song since 2014 – the first being the Academy Award-nominated “Till it Happens to You”, from the soundtrack of The Hunting Ground. “We wrote the songs from scratch together, then started bring other people in towards the end”.

“It’s really special on a personal level too between me and Mark and Bloodpop and Kevin”. The singer shared that she actually typed the lyrics up on a typewriter.

On the track, Gaga sings about blindly believing she was in love-however, eventually realizing it was “just a ideal illusion”. The new track debuted on BBC Radio 1’s morning show by the pop songstress while she co-hosted the show with presenter Nick Grimshaw.

The news made it through the airwaves and straight to social media, causing a frenzy.

“Perfect Illusion” is the first taste of Lady Gaga’s yet-to-be-titled return to Pop album. “This is about accepting that and letting go. It’s about wanting people to re-establish that human connection”. “But there’s also a lot of things that are on the internet that aren’t reality”.
