Mazda will be issuing stop sales for the Mazda CX-5 after it was discovered an issue with the fuel filler pipe might lead to a fire. A rear-end collision might rupture the pipe, which could then begin leaking fuel.

Mazda will soon order a formal recall of 264,000 of their CX-5 SUV, AutoBlog.com reported on Tuesday.

Mazda will replace the driver’s side inflator on all affected vehicles and the automaker plans on notifying affected owners as soon as dealers have replacement parts. It didn’t specify an exact fix and filings were not available from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. However, Mazda says that owners who are concerned about operating their vehicles before they’ve been fixed will be given a free loaner vehicle from their local dealer.

Mazda just filed the paperwork to begin the recall yesterday, and the company hasn’t yet published a proposed timeline for repairing vehicles. The trucks were previously recalled for inflators on the front passenger side, Mazda said.
