Storm Henry prompts new wind warnings for Scotland

WIND GUSTS OF up to 130 km/h are to be expected as Storm Henry hits Ireland, with the west coast bearing the brunt of the severe winds.
Shetland is forecast to experience the strongest winds, with gusts quite widely above 90 miles per hour and perhaps over 100 miles per hour in places.
Police warned of hazardous driving conditions in places, with some key routes in the north affected.
“The wintry weather is forecast to deteriorate tomorrow with the arrival of Storm Henry which carries an amber alert for high winds from Monday afternoon, continuing through the peak on Tuesday morning, ” he said.
Pascal Lardet from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency said: “There is a coastal flood risk for the Western Isles, due to storm force winds generating a large surge and waves”.
