We’ll have sizable breaks in between snow showers, but we’ll also have some heavier bursts as well.
First call for the Monday night into Tuesday snow threat, as of 1:30 p.m. February 7. Snow totals of four to six inches are possible in Butler, Warren and Clinton counties where the snow has been steady.
The system will gradually pull out of the Great Lakes by Tuesday evening, taking away most of the snow, with the exception of a few lake enhanced snow showers on Wednesday. Highs will be in the teens on Wednesday with single-digit lows by Thursday morning.
TOMORROW/THURSDAY: These two days will be dry with a good supply of sunshine; the high tomorrow will be in the low 40s, but we rise into the 50s Thursday afternoon. We are not expecting a lot in the way of snow but with temperatures failing to get above freezing today whatever does fall will stick to the roadways.
The system will begin to move in on Monday- starting as a burst of snow Monday morning across the region. No need to worry, the precipitation will be very light, and no impact is expected.
Yes, snow like this gets a lot of buzz, but the bigger issue looks like the wind chill and the extremely cold temperatures for the week ahead and into the weekend. North-northwest wind 8 to 17 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. New snow accumulation of less than 1 inch possible.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through Wednesday morning for portions of northern, central and southern Jersey. NW flow snow showers are expected Tuesday-Wednesday. Tuesday Highs will only make it into the Mid 30s!
