Stosur trailing as rain halts match
Radwanska was cruising when she led 3-0 in the second set on Sunday before the match was suspended, with play then completely washed out on Monday.

Novak Djokovic was leading Roberto Bautista Agut 3-6 6-4 4-1 on Chatrier when the rain struck their fourth-round match for a second time on Tuesday – having already been put back by nearly three hours earlier in the day.
Continuing showers Tuesday pushed back the start of play, but the rain became lighter, the tarps came off and there was action all around the grounds.
Muguruza is already into the quarterfinals; the other three were scheduled to play in the fourth round later Tuesday.
Halep struggled with the conditions and would later say that she was disappointed that the players were sent on court in what she perceived to be unplayable conditions.
Halep who has only dropped one set through her first three matches will look to continue her dominant run over Stosur where she has won the last 4 encounters.
Second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska and sixth-seeded Simona Halep both suffered fourth-round losses while playing in the poor conditions in Paris that included a slippery court and heavy tennis balls because of clay sticking to them.
“Not their fault”, she said.
Pironkova is the first Bulgarian into the French Open quarterfinals in a decade.
The 28-year-old, a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2010 and quarter-finalist in 2011, is ranked 102 in the world but adapted far better to the heavy conditions in Paris to advance to the last eight.
Upon resumption of the match on Tuesday, Radwanska lost 10 games in a row, on either side of another rain delay, to fall behind 2-6, 6-3, 4-0.
Stosur will have the weight of the nation on her shoulders and in her corner when she takes to the court to try and take down No.6 seed Halep.
The former runner-up at Roland Garros, was making unforced errors as Stosur’s serve-volleying was too much on this occasion taking the second set to win 7-6, 5-3, to qualify for her first quarter-final since 2012.
Before the break, Djokovic lost the first set of his fourth-round match against No. 14 Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3.
Previously, Pironkova’s best finish at Roland Garros was a third round appearance previous year.
“I mean, I don’t think they really care what we think”.
With more bad weather expected Tuesday, French Open organizers are trying to get as many matches as possible out of the way before the rain. “We could have played, and so we did”.
After an interruption lasting two hours and 45 minutes, the players resumed and Djokovic wasted no time in regaining the lead, only for the match to be stopped again.
They will be followed by defending champion Serena Williams in her delayed fourth-round match against 18th-seeded Elina Svitolina.

Rain forced organisers to change Tuesday’s schedule, cancelling the quarter-finals between Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet, and Stan Wawrinka and Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
