Strasburg leaves early with injury, Nats beat Braves in 11th
Atlanta rookie SS Dansby Swanson hit an inside-the-park homer Tuesday, his first career homer and the first inside-the-park homer by a Braves player since Wes Helms in 2001.3. “It kind of happened before you knew it happened a little bit”.

Swanson lined a pitch from Gio Gonzalez over Turner and high off the fence in center field, 399 feet away.
Braves: Interim manager Brian Snitker said he hopes RHP Matt Wisler (sore side) can return to the rotation next week.
The Braves led 4-1 after Freddie Freeman’s RBI single in the third, but Washington blasted starter Williams Perez later that inning. There were no errors on the play, so a home run goes next to the 2015 first overall pick’s name in the box score for this game and forever.
The Braves built an early lead thanks in part to Swanson’s home run.
Atlanta had grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI double by Jace Peterson, who also drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in the sixth to make it 6-2.
“It was one of those things where I thought it was going to be my first triple”, Swanson said.
Braves rookie shortstop Dansby Swanson entered Tuesday night with a slash one of.236/.283/.273 through just 15 career games, but we’ve seen flashes of his vast upside.
Jonathan Villar hit two home runs and Keon Broxton robbed Anthony Rizzo of a homer in the ninth inning to help Milwaukee beat Chicago.
Washington began a stretch of 17 out of 26 games at home to close out the season, and created problems for Weber the second time he went through the order.
Foltynewicz allowed only one hit over his final four innings and finished with eight strikeouts and three walks.
NOTES: The Nationals called up RHP Lucas Giolito and INF Wilmer Difo from Triple-A Syracuse before the game …
The start of the Nationals’ series finale against the Braves, featuring Strasburg’s first start in three weeks, has been delayed by a line of thunderstorms that has been hovering near South Capitol Street for several hours but has yet to produce significant precipitation at Nationals Park. Later in the inning Chris Heisey, getting a rare start, belted a three-run homer to almost the same spot to make it 5-1.
Baker said Strasburg had felt a pinch but didn’t elaborate on the severity of his injury.

Nationals: Strasburg (15-4, 3.59) will return from the DL and start Wednesday. Strasburg (15-4, 3.59) has not pitched since August 17 because of right elbow soreness.
