Stream Fetty Wap’s Self-Titled Debut Album

He has no choice but to face the challenge. It was creatively disguised as a music video for his latest single, “My Way”-or, is it the other way around: a music video disguised as a commercial for all of those brands?”

Fetty Wap is the best example of a people’s choice pop star out there right now, and his rise to Billboard chart monarch probably wouldn’t have happened a decade ago.

Fetty Wap performs at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh New York on August 30th 2015. Fetty uploaded the full version featuring Monty to YouTube.

The vaping rapper completes the required action he does most practical and has his top teaching assistants to flaunt off their personal autos, bikes and money. The song is about the rapper showing a woman how to “Jugg” or dance along with him.

But Monty, who is slotted to appear throughout the album, shows up less as a foil than to just offer a slight switch up from Fetty’s own recognizable voice. “Trap Queen” and “My Way” are surprisingly heartfelt, pining love songs (see sidebar below) wrapped in references to selling dope and “head shots if you think you could take my bitch”. He generally sings only a handful of notes in each song, backed mainly by a spare, synth backdrop – long the hallmark of hip-hop’s trap style – with the slightest lilt of dancehall thrown in occasionally.

One thing is for sure, no one should question Wap’s work ethic as the album contains a whopping 20 tracks including hits like “Trap Queen”, “679” and “My Way“.
