Regina King, who won last year for supporting actress in a limited series for “American Crime”, was nominated again in the same category for playing a different character in this year’s installment.

The FX crime drama Fargo, loosely based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s motion picture of the same name, was the third-most nominated production, with 18 nominations, including a bid for best limited series and a nod for Kirsten Dunst as best actress in that category.

Outstanding lead actor in a comedy series nominations are: Anthony Anderson, Blackish; Aziz Ansari, Master of None, William H. Macy, Shameless; Thomas Middleditch, Silicon Valley; Will Forte, Last Man on Earth; and Jeffery Tambor, Transparent.

The HBO’s fantasy epic that completed its sixth season, received 24 nominations past year and won its first Emmy for ‘best drama’. That category also saw nominations for Idris Elba for Luther, Benedict Cumberbatch for Sherlock and Tom Hiddleston for The Night Manager.

Speaking as he completed a Star Trek mural in Clerkenwell in London, he said: “I wasn’t expecting that”.

That went to Taraji P. Henson in the best actress in a drama category for her portrayal of family matriarch Cookie Lyon.

Nominations for the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced Thursday morning, as “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson and “Gilmore Girls” star Lauren Graham announced 12 categories.
