Streb shoots 63 and joins Walker in lead at PGA
Six groups didnt tee off on Saturday and Jordan Spieth who sits at three-under finished just one hole before the rain came down.

It’s supposed to be terrible – more of the same stuff that forced a suspension at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday and ended the golf for the entire day. The last time that happened was 2011. It represented an enormous turnaround for Mickelson from missing the cut at this year’s Masters and U.S. Open, but he also raised his own expectations as a result.
“I’d love to play golf like I did (in the first round) every day and I’d love to putt like I did (in the second) every day”.
Walker’s birdies put him at 13 under for the tournament.
The leaders made the turn in the final round of the PGA Championship and Jimmy Walker was still in front. “So it was one of those days”. Two wasted shots led to a 6 – and an early exit. “I’d have to look it up”, Mickelson said. At stake is a chance to join Tiger Woods as the only back-to-back PGA champions since the stroke-play era began in 1958.
British Open champion Henrik Stenson and Brooks Koepka were another shot back. He shot a 68 on Saturday and was at 1-under 209.
“I kind of gave myself a little kick in the bum, especially with the double bogey on 7”, Day said. Now, they’re facing the prospect of a long Sunday in which they would have to play 36 holes if they don’t play at all today.
Thunderstorms suspended play at 2:14 p.m. EDT at the course in Springfield, N.J., before the leaders could tee off and stopping action on a day where the earlier starters had found such favorable conditions that Phil Mickelson predicted a player might break the 18-hole scoring record of 63 in a major. Owner of one career win, the 2015 McGladrey Classic, and nine top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour, Streb said the idea going forward is to “try to do the same things we’ve been doing the last couple days, and hopefully, it’s good enough”.
“The body is normally fine to play two rounds of golf”, said Henrik Stenson, the reigning Open Championship victor, who needs to play 36 holes.
The third and fourth rounds of the PGA Championship were going on simultaneously at Baltusrol Golf Club.
Severe storms halted the third round, meaning 10 players returned to Baltusrol having not even started the third round. The third round was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. EDT on Sunday.
Those same pairings are supposed to go back out for the start of the final round at 8:40 a.m. ET for a stretch of tee times that should run approximately until 3:25 p.m. Sunset in North Jersey this time of year is just after 8 p.m., so it’s feasible that this manic sprint through Sunday could work.
Officials were hopeful that with no further weather delays, the tournament could be completed on time. But Friday morning’s rains changed all that, highlighted by Robert Streb’s 63 that afternoon, the 30th such score in majors history. The forecast showed 20 minutes of lightning and an hour of rain.
Walker, despite two adventurous closing holes, shot a 4-under 66.

It is extremely rare for this rule to be enacted in a major championship.
