The ex-MP made his first appearance on the hit BBC show last night, being partnered with new dance pro Katya Jones.
Wearing a suitably glittering shirt, Balls, 49, twisted and writhed around the 27 year-old from St Petersburg, during the first group dance. Eddie Davis, who was nicknamed Fast Eddie, had helped raise the model and had been excited to see her take part in “Strictly'”.
Asked if he had already dropped a few pounds through training, he said: “That was a reason Yvette thought I should do it”. She’s obsessed. She told me, “You’ve got to do ‘Strictly”. “I feel amazingly sexy now”.
Mark Bell, BBC head of arts commissioning, said: “We’ve loved having Claudia on Film 2016 and I’d like to thank her for all her hard work and commitment to the show”.
“If she had said it was a bad idea I wouldn’t have done it but she was gung-ho for it, so if it goes wrong I’m blaming her. So it’ll be nice for people to get to know me”. “I’ve not had a text from David Cameron but I don’t mind as long as he votes for me”.
Model Daisy Lowe, Olympian Greg Rutherford, Will Young and BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty also feature in the line-up.
“At this time of year I juggle all kinds of things for TV and radio and the show simply deserves someone who can give it their all”.
And, although she’s spent two decades in the limelight, Anastacia – who has battled two bouts of cancer, has an on-going fight with Crohn’s Disease and has a rare heart condition that leaves her with an irregular pulse – has finally let go of her body hang ups.

“I’m not sure whether I was more traumatised by my dad moves, which looked rather more dad-like than I had expected, or the pictures of me with all of these sparkling celebrities looking like I’m about to serve them the drinks in this bow tie”, he said.
