Struggling Chelsea beat Dynamo Kiev 2-1

Chelsea are now stuck down near the relegation places in the Premier League after having lost six of their opening 11 games in the top flight, and it’s seen them already drop out of the title race.

The Blues’ opposition today, Dynamo Kiev, are second with five points after the same number of games, and Maccabi Tel-Aviv are in the basement with zero points at the half way point in the group stages.

“It didn’t matter how we were going to it, we needed to win today”.

And the Portuguese coach was happy with his side’s resilience, indicating that hard periods occur in every game but the players have developed the ability to deal with such set-backs. Win that, and we might even see Mourinho return to his normal Arsene Wenger-baiting self.

“With Chelsea, I think this is my moment”.

“I think it’s an unbelievable feeling for the club to know that the fans are in a good moment”.

Former England defender Rio Ferdinand believes Chelsea need to find a level of form where they can control games, rather than panic when they go a goal behind.

“To win after conceding a goal with 15 minutes to go, it’s important”.

“I don’t have another way of thanking them than giving everything I have which I will do always”.

Chelsea have four points from their three matches and are now third in Group G behind Porto and Dynamo Kiev.

“This is probably the first time he’s suffered a run this in his career, but it’s also the longest he’s ever been at one club, so I would give him time to make it right at Chelsea”.

“At Real Madrid against the best team in the world he still won the league. When I came back to this club and we played the first match against Hull, the way the stadium welcomed me was fantastic, but it is not comparable to today”, Mourinho said. “Today it came in a moment when the results are not good”.

The manager continued, “We knew with a draw that if we win the next two matches we would qualify in second. The fans listen to pundits” opinions.
