Jones made a birdie to get to 10 under for the tournament, while fellow Aussie Jason Day finished his second round with a bogey and is in the clubhouse at 9-under 135. “Everything I need to do is just make sure that I focus and prepare myself for tomorrow [Sunday]”.
Spieth, 22, who becomes the second youngest world number one after Tiger Woods, said: “It feels really good“.
Standing well below the ball in a greenside bunker on No. 4, Woods took a huge chunk of sand, but instead of flying out, the ball popped up and dribbled into the next bunker down.
Always an erratic driver, Woods’ fourth swing change has only amplified his tee shot inaccuracy.
“I don’t want to say it was an easy day, but we communicated well with one another and it was good talks back and forth”, Stricker said.
Well, after past year, it was a bit of a surprise to see Billy Horschel come away with the $10,000,00o prize. “Now if I can start putting like I did today or what I did at Quicken Loans a couple weeks ago, then we have got something”. He also received an exemption into December’s Hero World Challenge, a tournament he hosts. McIlroy, in his first tournament since rupturing a left ankle ligament last month, said he was taking time off “to sort of reassess everything”.
