The 27-year-old, who rose to fame on the BBC2 reality show in 2010, was found by police at 9:00am in a property on the island’s Douglas Promenade.

She added: ” Following the earlier information provided by the police regarding the discovery of a body at an address in Douglas, police can now confirm that the man is Stuart Mark Alden Baggs, 27 years of age.

He quickly became one of the programme’s most notorious candidates for famous one-liners such as “Everything I touch turns to sold” and “I’m Stuart Baggs the brand”.

The death is not thought to be suspicious.

“Police confirm that at this time there is nothing obvious to indicate the cause of his untimely death and enquiries will continue”.

The Plymouth-born entrepreneur lived in the Isle of Man for most of his life and ran a telecommunications company.

He appeared in the series won by Stella English, and with familiar Apprentice hyperbole announced he was already a “brand”.

In an interview with Isle of Man Today last week, Baggs spoke at length about the launch of his BlueWave firm’s landline-free Superfast 4G Home Broadband, which he said would revolutionise communications on the island. “My honest condolences to his family and friends RIP one of the stand out characters of the apprentice”.
