Twenty-year-old Calvin Riley was playing the game at San Francisco’s waterfront when an unknown assailant shot him in the back and ran away. “I don’t know. Like i said this is an unusual occurrence and we’ll do everything we can to make sure this doesn’t happen again”, said a park official. “It’s hard for us to grasp that he’s not going to be there when we all come back in two weeks”, Skracic said.”We’re just dumbfounded”, Skracic said. It was just senseless, ” John Kirby said.
Riley played baseball for San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, where he was studying kinesiology, the Times reported.
This is especially painful for the family because they moved to the Bay Area from a high-crime city on the East Coast for a better and safer life.
It’s unclear whether the attack had anything to do with “Pokemon Go“, which has become a national sensation this summer as legions of fans visit real-world landmarks in a hunt for digital creatures.
Jansing said thus far there are no witnesses who have seen the gunman, who has not been apprehended.
Delta College baseball coach, Reed Peters expressed sadness to KRON4 News on the tragic incident.
The victim was identified as Calvin Riley, but the circumstances of his August 6 shooting death were unclear.
Authorities are still trying to determine the motive for the murder, according to preliminary information the perpetrator’s intentions weren’t to rob Calvin since the 20-year old was found with all his belongings.
