Student stabbed to death after fight on campus
One Ithaca College student was killed and another was injured after being stabbed during a “large fight” on the nearby Cornell University campus early Sunday in Ithaca, New York, officials from both schools said.

The event’s goal is to encourage students to take advantage of opportunities off-campus, and to realize all that Ithaca has to offer, according to the press release. The other victim, whose name was not released, was treated and released from the hospital, Ithaca College and Cornell said.
Police have not named any suspects in the stabbing, which followed a Saturday night party organized by Omega Psi Phi, a national fraternity of black men, at Willard Straight Hall as part of a series of events under the umbrella of Cornell’s Black Students United group.
It was unclear what incited the incident, which Ryan Lombardi, a Cornell administrator, called “deeply disturbing” in a statement.
Ithaca College said in a message on its website the school will hold a campus-wide gathering Monday afternoon for students, teachers and faculty. “For this to happen where we all go to class, where we all live, it’s a shock and it’s a tragedy for sure”. “I’m so incredibly sorry for their loss”. Please see our terms of service for more information.
But since word of his death Sunday, his family hasn’t stopped crying. “I never knew that it would have to be me crying over someone so close”. We stand in solidarity with all of the members of the Ithaca College and Cornell University communities during this very hard time.
Trevon Hanks, a 22-year-old student at Tompkins Cortland Community College told the News that he saw a person “covered in blood” on the ground during the fight. I join those urging anyone who can aid the authorities’ understanding of the events surrounding Nazaire’s fatal stabbing to contact the Ithaca Police Department at 607-272-3245 or the tipline at 607-697-0333. They said they were interviewing witnesses and believe based on surveillance footage that some captured the killing on video. “Instead, we must reflect, together, on what we can do to honor Anthony Nazaire’s life and memory”, Hamilton said.

The weapon was located and the area secured, however, the weapon used hasn’t been specified, the New York Daily News reported.
