Police did not detail the number of security or school resource officers that will be present a day after an argument between a few Sierra High girls escalated into more fights.

Other fights kept breaking out in and around the school cafeteria – in a few instances targeting school staff.

“I just feel like they’re preaching to the choir of the few parents that care and nothing really got accomplished and it was just a smooth over meeting”, said Heather Duran, parent.

“We are increasing SRO’s that are at the campus”. We are adjusting lunch periods. “Teachers, administrators, and security, they are having conversations with students, engaging in conversations with parents”, Spencer said.

“I answered questions that I knew that parents in that particular audience, because we saw it being repeated, wanted answers to”, said Dr. Spencer.

“We’re putting that information into a document with answers to every single parent”. Are they going to have conflict resolution for the students so they can take care of situations without getting physical?

The fight started in the cafeteria, where up to 100 students might have been at the time, said Harrison School District 2 spokeswoman Christine Lyle.

It was quickly broken up by staff members and those students were immediately suspended.
