Stuntman performs jump over canyon late Evel Knievel attempted
Eddie Braun is planning to strap into a steam-powered rocket and travel 430 miles per hour to soar to the other side of the canyon this weekend.

Braun, a 54-year-old stuntman from Southern California, utilized a steep ramp just like Knievel to help propel his rocket-powered craft across the gorge near Twin Falls at 4 p.m. PDT. Knievel landed at the bottom of the canyon when his parachute prematurely deployed partway across the canyon, but walked away with only minor injuries. The spot where he jumped was 1,600ft-wide.
May 26, 1975: Knievel jumps over 10 single-decker buses in London’s Wembley Stadium.
But just in case, he asked his young son to walk his sisters down the aisle at their weddings in the event of his death.
Stuntman Eddie Braun has recreated Evel Knievel’s Snake River Canyon rocket bike stunt in every technical way but one-Braun actually succeeded.
The Knievel family turned up in Idaho to watch Braun’s attempt, which was inspired by the American stunt performer who died in 2007.
The daredevil can then be seen landing safely in a field on the opposite side of the canyon at the end of the incredible jump. “How many people get to finish the dream of their hero?” Notably, Knievel’s son Robbie visited Twin Falls in the early ’90s and again in 2010 to tout a possible jump (the second time with a camera crew following him). Knievel promised a weeklong festival complete with celebrities, a golf tournament and fun.

Knievel also allegedly left town without paying certain business debts.
