Sturridge brings ‘fear factor’ back to Liverpool – Henderson

It was only his sixth league appearance of a season interrupted by knee, foot and hamstring injuries.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson says fit-again Daniel Sturridge will make a “huge difference” in the remainder of the campaign.

A Liverpool fan kisses Divock Origi of Liverpool as he celebrates after scoring his team’s fourth goal during the Barclays Premier League match between Aston Villa and Liverpool at Villa Park on February 14, 2016 in Birmingham, England.

“Of course Liverpool is a very good side with so many talented players but then sometimes fighting spirit, especially in the position where we were, I was expecting that but we were not able to deliver it”.

“It is good to see him fit and when he hides himself on the pitch he is really hard to defend against because he is always somewhere and you don’t know his next move”.

Garde added: “I will continue giving confidence to my players as I have done since I came to the football club”. That is the only issue.

Many of those that remained chanted against owner Randy Lerner, while some in the main stand shouted directly at chief executive Tom Fox.

“I can’t imagine one Premier League manager looking at that team and thinking there is one player I would like to take into my squad”. He doesn’t want to be injured.

Sturridge, who returned to the starting XI after a number of injuries had kept him on the sidelines, did not believe it was that important for him to get back on the scoresheet but insisted that a team victory was the main focus.

“Regardless of being captain, I’ve spoken to him”, said Henderson. “If he stays fit, he becomes world class”.

“I like celebrations but not after 6-0”, he told the BBC. When he is firing, he is one of the best in the world.

Any hopes Villa had of overturning a two-goal deficit at the interval soon faded away, as a rampant Reds side with just one league win in six heading into Sunday’s game ran riot in the West Midlands. They are big games and we will see who we can bring in. The players appreciate that. Thankfully everything (with the tickets) is sorted now. “Today he was brilliant, but this is not a day for us to sing songs”.
