Sturridge frustrated at role under Klopp
However, Klopp insisted that he plans to play him as a central striker, but said that the game is all about changing positions.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has publicly admitted he’s not satisfied playing out wide for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and that he’d rather be consistently featuring in a role as a centre forward.
Sturridge came off the bench during Tuesday’s 5-0 thrashing of Burton and managed two goals, but again found himself on the right wing. “Of course he can start there, of course he can play there, but in the decisive moments, he needs to be involved in all the finishing situations. We have talks and there’s no issue”.
“I don’t want to play Daniel as a wide player”, he said. I’m on autopilot there. That’s not saying I am happy to do it.
Liverpool will play strong team in the EFL Cup at Sky Bet Championship side Burton.
He added: “Of course each week in which they can’t or didn’t play it is not too good for a player but that is how it is in football, you accept this when you start playing the game”.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has bemoaned his team’s inability to convert superior possession into goals after their surprise 2-0 loss to Burnley on Saturday.
But the manager was quick to quash any discontent, assuring Sturridge his preference wasn’t to play him out wide. Then you have these players who are really skilled in finishing situations in and around the box. I am a player who plays on instinct. You don’t stay and wait until you get the ball and especially not in Daniel’s case.
While Christian Benteke has been sold to Crystal Palace and Mario Balotelli is out of favour, Sturridge is competing with new arrival Sadio Mane as well as Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Danny Ings for a place in Klopp’s frontline. “It is a different regime, a different coaching style”.
Daniel Sturridge was earlier played in wide positions for England at the Euro 2016 also, under Roy Hodgson.
“It was quite warm and humid so for both teams it was not easy, but we did what we had to do and that’s good”.

“Nobody wants the information we got from Burnley, but we got it and now we have to use it and find a way to win”.
