Subaru Impreza and Viziv concepts unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo motor show

Subaru’s concept pointed to the styling of the next Impreza, due in the first quarter of 2017.

The company says the concept “previews the next generation Impreza”, indicating a clear and concrete insight into the next model.

The exterior design features what Subaru calls “Dynamic & Solid” design elements, and it is rather eye catching with its large hexagonal grille, “hawk-eye” headlights, pronounced shoulder line and taillights that match the headlights. A set of muscular front guards gives off the impression of width and stance. Don’t expect the new-generation 2017 Subaru Impreza to look exactly like the concept auto because it’s a design that is hinting at the design direction for the entire brands future lineup.

Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, unveiled the Impreza 5-Door Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show and it reveals where the brand is headed.

The Tokyo shows starts today, local time. By “talking” to other cars it can anticipate risky weather, traffic snarls and accidents.

Another piece of technology is a next-generation hybrid system combining a downsized turbocharged engine with an electric motor in a “through-the-road” hybrid all-wheel-drive setup (the engine powers the front wheels while the electric motor powers the rear pair).
