Subaru Teases Impreza Sedan Concept
Still, in Subaru’s words, it’s a look at the “design direction not only of the new Impreza but of Subaru’s future models as a whole”. To whet buyers’ appetites, the Japanese auto maker will show a thinly-veiled design study dubbed Impreza Sedan Concept at the upcoming Los Angeles Motor Show.

Just last month, Subaru wowed us with the Impreza 5-Door Concept it revealed at the Tokyo Auto Show.
Spyshots of both the next-gen Subaru Impreza sedan and hatchback undergoing testing has revealed that the finished product would probably not stray too far from what we saw in Tokyo, and what we will see at Los Angeles. The cars will ride on the newly developed Subaru Global Platform (SGP) which will bring a healthy weight loss even though the cars will likely be a tad bigger than the outgoing models. Expect the next-generation Impreza to be released in the latter parts of 2016 as a 2017 model.
The 2017 Impreza will also usher in a new family of flat-four engines fitted with efficiency-boosting tech features such as direct fuel-injection and cylinder deactivation. Powertrain options might include a 2.0 litre (or lower) naturally aspirated, turbocharged or hybrid boxer engine, paired to a manual gearbox or a Lineartronic CVT.

The sedan will share the same front end as the hatchback version, but we can see from the teaser image that the roofline will have a sportier silhouette than the current Impreza sedan.
