Suburban NY teen displayed loaded gun on school bus
Authorities say a 16-year-old threatened a younger student with a loaded gun during an argument on a suburban NY school bus. Ramapo police say the 16-year-old victim had boarded a bus at Ramapo High School on Friday when another 16-year-old male student boarded the bus and sat next to him.

In the letter, the principal said a student reported that another student had a handgun. The weapon, a.380-caliber gun, was confiscated, and the student was arrested and will be disciplined according to JCPS policies, Guetig said in the letter.
This morning several students reported to the school office that they had seen one of our students with a weapon.
On Sept. 7, two Iroquois High School students were arrested after bringing a loaded 9 mm handgun to the school. During the stop, the gun was found and both were arrested.

Jefferson County Public Schools will release more information about the incident during a 2:30 p.m. news conference. “The safety of our staff and students is at the forefront of everything we do. If there is an incident at a school, it is handled with urgency, transparency and open lines of communication”.
