KGW is reporting an unusual story that unfolded at a Lincoln City Subway restaurant. The worker scraped the last shreds of spinach from the container and sprinkled them on the sub.

“I got my drink, turned around and they were in shock like something happened”, Jones told KGW.
The employees and the customer noticed the mouse in the greens immediately.
‘There were no other complaints made’. Fantastic! WTF!!! The manager was in shock!
Jones wasn’t laughing for long because he quickly realized his sandwich had spinach on it too.
Asking for extra spinach for his Italian Sub sandwich ordered on October 6 from a Subway outlet in Oregon help spare Matt Jones from eating veggies which was the playground of a mouse. The rodent was at the bottom of the spinach bin, and when the employee was preparing the sandwich it scooped up and was spread across the sandwich along with spinach. The Lincoln County Health Department says it was immediately notified and health inspectors investigated.
According to Cheryl Connell, the director of Lincoln County Health and Human Services, the rodent did not come from inside the Subway.
Health inspectors spoke to physicians who assured them there was a “very low” risk of someone growing ill after eating spinach from that bin. “Everything was sanitized and cleaned properly afterwards”.
The pals were refunded after they returned the subs and they called Subway headquarters to complain.
Subway released a statement about the mouse as well.
KGW attempted to identify the vendor who distributed the spinach but Subway declined to identify them.
Health officials arrived at the store a short time after the discovery of the rodent and reportedly determined that the rodent did not come from inside of the store, but was most likely in the bag of spinach.

But Connell said this was not necessary because the state’s Public Health Division did not deem the incident a public health emergency.
