Investigators say the drink spiking took place Monday at about 12:20 p.m.at the Subway restaurant at 1142 E. Highway 93, Layton. “For some unknown reason, he walks away from the fountain machine out of camera view”.

“The suspect was seen taking the sergeant’s order, filling his drink”, Sgt. Bobrowski said.
Tanis Lloyd Ukena, 18, was arrested Monday evening and booked into the Davis County Jail for investigation of surreptitious administration of a substance, a second-degree felony.
“The [sergeant] began feeling the effects of being drugged”, the report said.
“While approaching an intersection that had a red light, [the officer] had difficulty getting his foot to move to the brake pedal”, the police report reads.
A Layton police sergeant purchased lunch at the drive through window and soon noticed his drink had an unusual flavor. “He was unable to process information and drifted off, and was unable to focus on questions being asked of him”. He had trouble maintaining focus and controlling his movements as he drove back to the station.
An ambulance took him to Davis Hospital and Medical Center, where he was treated and later released to recover at home, police said. Layton Police Sergeant Clint Bobrowski confirmed the sergeant was in uniform at the time of the incident.
Charging documents say the unfinished drink was tested on an “ion scanner” and revealed the presence of methamphetamine, and THC, the psycho-active ingredient in marijuana.
Lyman says police don’t know why Ukena drugged the drink.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – A Utah sandwich shop employee has been arrested on accusations he put methamphetamine and THC into the drink of a uniformed police officer.
