Suge Knight will be back in court Tuesday (Oct. 13) morning for a hearing related to robbery charges in which he and comedian Katt Williams are accused of taking the camera of a celebrity photographer, the AP reports.

The judge’s ruling represents a setback for Knight, who in a separate case is charged with murdering a man by running him over with his pickup truck in a January altercation outside a burger stand in the Los Angeles suburb of Compton.

Knight’s lawyers have requested a delay in the hearing, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald Coen has previously told them he intends to proceed with the hearing. He is also heading to trial for those accusations, to which he has pleaded not guilty, and is due back in court for that case on 11 December (15).

If convicted, Knight could face 30 years to life in prison because of a previous conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.

The Death Row Records co-founder is also charged in a separate murder case. Knight’s attorney Thomas Mesereau told the judge that the evidence did not support robbery, aiding and abetting, or criminal threats.

“He referred to as me a bitch. He said that he will beat my ass and then he said to someone, ‘Take this bitch’s camera, ‘” Redden said, adding that she ran down the street and was chased by two people.

Williams’ attorney, Shawn Holley, described her client’s involvement as “very fleeting”.

“He by no means struggled with anybody, he by no means touched anybody”, Mesereau stated. She said the camera was filming during her encounter with Knight for “safety reasons” and likened it to a police dash camera.

Beverly Hills police Detective Mark Schwartz testified that Knight was heard in the video footage telling someone to get the woman’s camera.

The troubled stars stand accused of attempting to snatch Leslie Redden’s camera during an incident outside a recording studio in Beverly Hills, California past year (14), days after Knight was shot at a party.
