“This summer program is created to provide nutritious meals to kids during the summer months when school meals are not available.”, Food Service Supervisor Jacki Corona said.
Summer Meals program organizers in Redmond have found a three-wheeled method to make sure more children in high-poverty areas receive free food.
Brush School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)!

If your child lives in Bernalillo County or Albuquerque, they can start getting a free breakfast or lunch on Wednesday. No meals will be served on July 1 or July 4.
In 2015, MS was one of the top 10 worst performing states in the National School Lunch Program, tied with Nevada for number 46.
“Each summer children wait for the last bell of the school year”. You must be 18 years old or younger. “In these cases, a child with access to summer meals all summer long could have a better nutritional profile come fall than if they had not had access”.
This summer meals will be provided at the Elementary School’s lunchroom (349-399 C St., Cosmopolis) Monday – Friday from 11 am to Noon.
All meals for the program will be prepared and served at Franklin Elementary School in Boone. “So if there is no funding, then the entire summer food program is shut down”.
Any child can receive a meal, not just Jerome School District students, Sullivan said.
