The 2015 edition of the Territorial Cup didn’t have the same stakes as the 2014 game, which determined the Pac-12 South title. This year, the Sun Devils got the beat on the Wildcats when it came to pulling a prank on the other. The one-score deficit was short-lived when Bercovici dove one yard into the end zone to make ASU’s lead, 21-7.
A win over Arizona may not ease the pain of those missed goals, but Lucien took a few solace in the fact that he had a major hand in the Sun Devils’ rout of their rival, something he wasn’t able to do for UCLA against USC.
UA stopped the Devils’ next drive and took over at their own six-yard line, but after a four-yard carry and an incomplete pass, Orr intercepted Dawknis’ pass on third-and-long and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown.
Dawkins finished with 305 yards passing and two touchdowns. However, the Wildcats responded when Griffey caught a 43-yard pass to set up a 17-yard touchdown grab by wide receiver Tyrell Johnson that cut the Sun Devils’ lead back to eight, 38-30.
Bercovici scored on a one-yard run on the next drive, then hit Jalen Harvey for his first career reception, a 41-yard touchdown play.
A 65-yard, multiple-tackle-breaking run by Ballage set up Zane Gonzalez’s last-second 29-yard field goal that put Arizona State up 31-10. After completing just four of his 13 attempts for 35 yards, he was pulled in favor of Dawkins, a redshirt freshman.

Among the Sun Devils’ 400 first-half yards were five plays of 37 yards or more, including a pair of touchdowns. It’s hard in that short a period of time to really understand how we do things.
