Sunbathing woman run over by police truck on Louisiana beach
Lindsey Gordon, 24, has been undergoing multiple surgeries, since she was rolled over by a pickup truck driven by a Grand Isle police officer on Thursday afternoon. He says the woman struck by the vehicle received moderate injuries.

First responders airlifted the woman from the western end of Grand Isle to University Medical Center in New Orleans, Manale said.
Gordon just wanted to spend the day at the beach with her friend. The other woman managed to get out of the way and scream for Esponge to stop the Ford F-250.
Grand Isle Police Assistant Chief Norris Esponge is on administrative leave pending a state police investigation, though state police spokesman Sgt. Nick Manale says “no impairment is suspected”, NOLA.com reports. One woman was able to get out of the way of the oncoming truck.
Gordon’s friend was able to move out of the way but Louisiana State Police say Officer Esponge rolled over Gordon.
Manale told Fox 8 Live: “I know as part of their patrol, they do do patrols up and down the beach area there, in the parking lot, and the surrounding businesses” locations. A trooper is en route to the hospital to interview her, and more will be known about her condition at that time, LaGrange said.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office tells us Esponge worked for their department from 1989 until 2007.

Investigators also found a gun on the desk of Grand Isle Police Chief Euris Dubois – a gun that did not belong to him, and whose owner he could not identify.
