Sundance Square To Host ESPN College GameDay Again

GameDay and ESPN had a number of compelling matchups to choose from in the first week of the season – Texas-Notre Dame, Arizona State-Texas A&M, Louisville-Auburn, Youngstown State-Pitt… but unsurprisingly, Bristol has chosen the neutral site showdown between Alabama and Wisconsin from JerryWorld in Fort Worth.

But ESPN will not stop with just the season-opening clash between the Crimson Tide and Badgers. In fact, the only time GameDay has opened a season on campus in the past eight years was in 2013, when they went to Clemson for the Tigers game against Georgia. And in the name of corporate synergy, that matchup just so happens to be the primetime game for ABC in Week 1 of the season. That’s right, the Worldwide Leader’s college football tentpole will be pulling double-duty to open the season. For the Crimson Tide, they always have high expectations and head coach Nick Saban will look to get back to the College Football Playoff in a tough SEC West division.

It marks the second straight season the touring pregame present will host its Week One present entrance Arlington.

A three-man crew – new host Rece Davis, plus analysts Desmond Howard and David Pollack – will continue on to Blacksburg to do a College Football Countdown show before the Ohio State game two days later.

It is truly great to see Corso back for another season as his headgear picks are one of the best things on a College Football Saturday.
