Sunderland boss Allardyce rules out centre-half role for Rodwell
Jordan Henderson says Sam Allardyce can keep Sunderland in the Premier League but is only interested in securing three points on his return to the Stadium of Light.

The Reds were well on top for most of the game at Anfield yet failed to put their chances away and while Christian Benteke ended his run without a goal, his failure to score with Kasper Schmeichel up field in the final minute did rather sum up how things are in attack for this side at present.
“But it was really good and I hope he stays fit and he will help us of course, he’s high quality player”.
“We have our moments when we are shooting and we have a little bit of bad luck; for example the situations once or twice with Adam (Lallana) where he was a little bit unlucky when he went really close and could have scored a goal (against Leicester)”.
“What we have to create is a stable level of performance, that’s what we have to work on”.
And he is confident his men will take the right mental approach as they face a side now languishing in the relegation zone.
“There is no reason in the mentality of the team to think, “oh it is only Sunderland”, Klopp said. Nobody in the team thinks, ‘It’s only Sunderland’.
He expects Sunderland to be desperate to bounce back from their defeat at City and so will prepare his players for a physical battle.
Klopp revealed that he is feeling comfortable in the Liverpool manager’s shoes and said that he is enjoying the responsibility of managing the Reds, who he feels are a “cool” club.
Liverpool are likely to be without striker Divock Origi for Wednesday’s match.
Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has ruled out a centre-half role for Jack Rodwell.
Former England global Brown is set for only his second appearance since May, with his most recent coming in last month’s 6-2 defeat at Everton.
The 36-year-old is on standby to replace former Manchester United team-mate John O’Shea, who is struggling with a calf problem picked up in the City defeat that left the Black Cats second-last.

“We need to play more clever football, which is what we did against Leicester by playing in behind their defence more, and that gave us a platform”.
