The 24-year-old midfielder has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Sam Allardyce’s side.

Sunderland have agreed to sign Bordeaux attacking midfielder Wahbi Khazri for a fee of £7.6million subject to a successful medical.

“Wahbi is a quick, dynamic attacking player”, Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce told the club website.

“His versatility will certainly complement our existing forward options and I am delighted to welcome him to the club”.

Sunderland’s latest signing played more than 50 times for Bordeaux, finding the net on 14 occasions.

And he will consider the capture of Khazri a victory after reports this week that both Everton and Aston Villa were also tracking the player. He made his global debut for Tunisia in 2012 and has gone on to make 13 appearances scoring six goals.
