Sunny forecast continues Thursday in metro

Monday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Sunday, there is an 80 percent chance of showers with a high near 72, according to the weather service. Breezy, with a south wind 9 to 14 miles per hour increasing to 17 to 22 miles per hour in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 miles per hour. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some thunder is also possible.

The storms are expected to begin around 6 p.m. Wednesday and last until 10 p.m., with 70 miles per hour winds, ping pong-sized hail and isolated risks of tornadoes all possible. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

The overnight lows though are expected to stay above freezing so we are not anticipating any frost or hard freezes over the next five days. Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Showers ending early Tuesday, some clearing in the afternoon, high in the mid to high 70’s. Wednesday afternoon will be breezy and hot again with another day of August-like highs in the low to mid 90s under a partly cloudy sky.
