Super Bowl 51 tickets go on sale in June

Roger Goodell announced that the cities of Atlanta, South Florida, and Los Angeles will host the future Super Bowls games in their respective stadiums.

The 2019 edition will be played at the Atlanta Falcons’ new US$1.4 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium, scheduled to be completed by the 2017 season.

This year’s Super Bowl will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, while Super Bowl LII will be in Minneapolis at the new U.S. Bank Stadium, which is set to open this season for the Minnesota Vikings.

The following year will be the first Super Bowl in Los Angeles since the Rose Bowl hosted the game in 1993.

Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke is planning to building a stadium complex estimated to cost $2.6 billion, the highest ever for a stadium complex.

The three cities join a growing list of major metropolitan areas that invested big on new stadiums in recent years and were also awarded Super Bowls. Atlanta last hosted a Super Bowl in 2000.

South Florida will host a first Super Bowl in a decade when the 54th edition takes place in Miami in 2020. On the other hand, the Dolphins Stadium is on its way of going through a $450 million renovation prior to it adding up to the Super Bowl record of Miami. South Florida’s winning presentation on Tuesday was delivered by a former Dolphins Super Bowl hero, Hall of Fame fullback Larry Csonka. The last time the Super Bowl was played was in Atlanta.
