Sunday Oliseh’s men slipped down the ladder seven places to be ranked 12th on the list led by Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Senegal, Tunisia, Cameroun, Congo, Guinea, Congo DR for the continent’s November top ten standings.
This is Nigeria’s senior national team worst rating in the last 18 months.
Third placed Ghana dropped five places to number 30.
They were 66th in the ranking in 2009, and have completed their rise to the first spot after six years followed by Germany, Argentina, Portugal and Chile.
England, who are ninth after moving up one place, and Austria who are 10th after moving up one rung, have each made slight progress.
Four teams improved their ranking by over 30 places: Chad (136th, up 39), Cyprus (76th, up 38), Sao Tome e Principe (157th, up 36) and Turkmenistan (121st, up 34).
The composition of the top 50 for November 2015 shows little change, with the AFC gaining two teams through Korea Republic (48th, up 5) and Japan (50th, up 5) and Africa losing two, Cameroon and Congo each having dropped three places to 51st and 52nd respectively.
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com on December 3, 2015.
