One of the most successful video game series of all time, this new mobile version of Super Mario has already caused Nintendo’s share price to soar, similarly as it did when Pokemon Go launched earlier this year.

While I’m sure numerous Apple faithful reacted to an official Super Mario game on iOS with a passing shrug, for Nintendo fans and the overlap the two company’s share, it’s a big deal. Release dates are unknown at this point.

We are finally getting to see a Mario game come to the iPhone and iPad in December 2016, which will be playable using only one hand. This surprise announcement that Nintendo’s flagship franchise would debut on Apple’e new iPhone sharply propelled its stock, ending the day with a 13% increase on hopes the firm had at last embraced mobile gaming. He said that the new game would arrive on iOS first and added that anyone could pick it up and instantly start playing. The character jumps with just a tap anywhere on the screen.

Super Mario Run will consist of three game modes. For the very first time, the game can be played one-handedly, which will surely make it instantly popular among users. The second mode will be composed of taking on the data of other players and finding out who can reach the end of the level in the most style. There’s also a brand new way to play, as the new battle mode allows users to choose opponents to beat their high score.
