Nintendo finally released its much-anticipated Super Mario mobile debut title, Super Mario Run, last week.
Unlike Pokemon Go and other popular games (like Candy Crush and Angry Birds) that typically charge for in-game items and powerups – Super Mario Run charges users upfront to play the entire game. Apparently, “Super Mario Run’s” free three stages ends too quickly. How does it compare to Pokemon Go? It’ll therefore be interesting to see if the company is willing to walk away from its fledging console business to better focus on mobile gaming. It recently slashed its first-month revenue expectations for “Super Mario Run” to a range of $12 million to $15 million from $60 million, according to GameSpot. This has further raised concerns over the game’s one-time payment model, which differs from the usual model of paying various small amounts for select in-game features. The game is estimated to have made $5 million on its first day.
Super Mario Run has been out for just under a week since it was released back on December 15.
“We’re not going to continue to release little packets of additional content that people will have to pay for”, said famed Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto told USA TODAY before the launch.
The game has received lots of one-star reviews, as fans complain about the price tag, online-only requirements and more.

To unlock the next levels, players will have to pay for $10. And another factor that causes distaste for this game from is there will be no new content after the purchase.
