Super Tuesday: Major victories for Trump, Clinton
Kasich on Wednesday told NBC that neither Trump nor Texas Sen. And yet, the main question – are we going to a contested convention? – remains unanswered. None of them won.

The comments were first reported by Politico.
Donald Trump says he will not participate in the next GOP presidential debate on Monday in Utah because “we’ve had enough debates”. “We are going to go all the way to Cleveland and secure the Republican nomination”.
There are 21 states still to vote in primaries and caucuses, with Mr Trump now on 661 delegates, Mr Cruz on 406 and John Kasich on 142.
As counting in the Missouri primary continues for the Republicans, CNN projected a tight race between Trump and Cruz.
Donald Trump greets supporters at a campaign rally in Bloomington, Ill., in March. Marco Rubio dropped out of the race. “You know, I’m representing many, many millions of people”.
“They want to see borders”.
Rubio’s loss was a major setback for Republicans trying to stop the bellicose businessman, whose populist anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim stance they say will split the party. I think bad things would happen, I really do.
Even if Cruz won all of the remaining winner-take-all states – there are only six more – he couldn’t reach the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination before the convention.
He said he believes he’ll capture the nomination before the convention and said he couldn’t imagine failing to get the party’s nod virtually “automatically” in such a scenario.
Meanwhile, Democrat Hillary Clinton won big in Ohio, North Carolina and Florida, and has apparently come away from IL and Missouri with a slim margin of victory. “If you can’t win OH, you can’t be president”.
Five big states are voting, with a combined 15% of the total number of delegates available in each party up for grabs.
Kasich, who has tried to emphasize the positive in a Republican race dominated by the pugnacious Trump, said his campaign was “about holding us together, not pulling us apart”.
“We’ve got one more trip around OH this coming fall where we will beat Hillary Clinton and I will be the President of the United States”, said Kasich in closing. The young and suave Rubio was the establishment favorite against Trump and Cruz, both seen as political renegades with extremist views, and Kasich’s win in a key state with 66 winner-take-all delegates brings whiff of moderate hope to the deeply fractured party.

There were fewer problems for Clinton, who defeated her rival Bernie Sanders in Florida, North Carolina and Ohio. Marco Rubio bowed out of the race Tuesday night following a dismal showing in his home state of Florida.
