In addition to Superman, the second season of Supergirl will also feature Lex Luthor’s sister and more characters.

Based on the Pre-Crisis version of the character, Lena “arrives in town to get out from under the shadow of her infamous brother”. The casting describes her as sexy and smart and driven to get what she wants. Farrow, meanwhile, is a new “leading man” type and the son of a famous reporter who joins CatCo. Farrow is looking to make a name for himself and In hanging out with Kara, the hero in Nick “might finally come out”. Cat’s news team will also be getting a veteran editor in Snapper Carr, who is tasked with taking an “old school” approach to rebooting her brand (and maybe filling a Calista Flockhart void if she reduces her role?). Lastly, we will meet Maggie, a lesbian detective working in the all-new Science Police, dedicated to fighting alien threats and the supernatural.
These character reports originated from TV Line, and casting is now underway for all of them. “Supergirl” Season 2 is expected to return in October on The CW. In the comics, Sawyer is a Captain in the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit, and is adamant in proving that the law is much more effective than vigilantism.
Supergirl is shaking things up significantly for season two, and not just because it’s moving networks.
As soon as we hear who’s been cast in this role – and/or any of the others – we’ll be sure to let you know. No, it’s not a time-travelling alien joining the cast, this Doctor is the leader of Project Cadmus, a female character who experiments on people using alien technology.
One of the most exciting new additions to the show is Maggie Sawyer, a Detective who will lead the meta-human branch of the National City Police.
Chances are, no. As incredible as it would be to see Cassidy Freeman back in the skin of Lena (aka Tess Mercer, aka Lutessa Lena Luthor) and even more incredible to see Tom Welling back as our favorite superhero, Supergirl will most likely live in the newer DC Comics that current shows like The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow do.
The fourth new character is called Snapper Carr and will be a journalist at CatCo.

The news that Supergirl’s cast is growing rapidly should be extremely exciting for the fans as it proves that CW are invested in the show, but where does this leave the regular cast from Season One?
