Supergirl: How Does She Do It review
I am sorry. I like both of them, but she has more with Winn.

However, Benoist made sure that her “2015 version” of Supergirl will still be relevant. News, Jenner will first make his appearance in the new year when he will be arriving in National City to throw a hitch into Kara’s relationship with her boss Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart).
However, I really loved the introduction to Cat’s son, Carter. This is a very casual introduction to young Carter. Cat Grant gives another rousing speech about feminism and then caps it off by insulting Kara’s appearance, like any good feminist would. “Meanwhile, James feels unsettled when his ex-girlfriend Lucy Lane wants to be a part of his life”.
Over in the do-not-care-at-all column is Lucy and James’ drama.
Later, Lucy comes to say good-bye to James. Assuming it’s Henshaw’s attempt to spy on her, she confronts him, only to find the device was built with some of Lord’s technology. Kara saves a building from falling down, but it seems that pesky drone is still keeping tabs on her. At the DEO, Hank speculates that the bombing could be an act of “corporate espionage” since the building held a lab developing a new battery. In “How Does She Do It”, Alex advises her sister to not speak with James about Lucy in order to stay out of the friend zone (apparently this has been a problem for Kara in the past).
On the train: Supergirl tries talking to Ethan the same way she talked to Reactron, but it doesn’t work. James’ affections for Kara may be complicated, but it’s not like she doesn’t have any admirers.
“Oh you like Supergirl?” the bespectacled secretary asked the kid in the clip. Carter tries to get on the train with no success, but Lord escorts him on to “find his parents”.
Supergirl has a decent enough episode here and I do suspect that I would have liked it just a touch more if it had played in order, but not by much. Oh and one more issue – there’s a second bomb at the airport and Supergirl can’t be in two places at once! Supergirl must take it far away from the city. She knows it was a ruse, but to what end though? Hank Henshaw walks around with his eyes glowing but no one catches on that there’s anything weird happening.
At Noonan’s, Lucy and Jimmy talk about their relationship until he finally pulls it out of her, she wants to get back together with him. It’s obvious that the next target will be Maxwell Lord’s train unveiling, especially because the bomber turns out to be one of his former employees with a sick daughter. He worked in the lab that was the site of the first bombing but was sacked and recently reported missing by his family. “She’s so fearless, and inspiring, and hopeful and that’s what is most important”.
Kara responds with a nervous laugh, insisting that Lucy has absolutely nothing to worry about.
Because Supergirl is interested in telling the story of a superhero still learning to use her powers, it has to find ways to let Kara fail without making her constantly seem weak or stupid. She must have thought she was dreaming though. Cue awkward laughter from Kara. She wonders how she can compete with a female version of that. Lucy is a JAG officer, who let her career get in the way of her relationship with James. Alex approaches Maxwell with the information about Knox. She introduces herself to him, and he’s incredibly shy. He also reveals a huge mistrust of government organizations. Cat calls Kara to make sure she picked up Carter all right, but she totally forgot. Back at Catco, Kara figures out that Carter is infatuated with Supergirl, and that Jimmy is overwhelmed with work in Cat’s absence. Sometimes you have to do bad things to get there.
The episode’s central conflict arises when there are two bombs planted – one at the airport and another on Lord’s high-speed train.
Carter gets himself trapped on the train being bombed because he was hoping to meet Supergirl.

The DEO portions of this show continue to be the least interesting thing about it. Alex is assigned to watch over government-hating Maxwell Lord and their scenes definitely have a romantic undercurrent to them. It’s likely to be an inside job since it’s using his tech to attack his facilities, but there’re some small hidden aspects to it. Amusingly, the DEO operates as the FBI For this investigation and that means Alex gets to hang out with Lord while trying to run down who might be involved on this from the inside. She stops the train. Kara and Alex have lingering questions about the whole situation: How did Hank stop the detonation at the airport? The bomb Hank disarmed had a kill switch in it that could be activated remotely, which makes no sense on a “fake bomb”. Why did Knox commit suicide? Knox agreed to plant the bombs in exchange for his daughter’s treatment, and Maxwell has been testing Supergirl all along. Cat’s advice: you learn. If you missed it, we have a full and detailed recap right here for you. I received a lot of messages from people who want to learn more about Lucy and how she ended up in this place with James in this episode. Oh, just that bomb. Supergirl goes to the airport. Train or airport?-was the most damning test of all. He also has the key, find the person she was trying to save on that train and he’ll find out who she is. She can’t do it all. He’s clearly up for the challenge.
